Hurricane Safety & Preparedness

June 1 marks the beginning of the six-month hurricane season. Early NOAA predictions indicate a "near normal" or "above normal" hurricane season in the Atlantic Basin this year with a 60 to 70 percent chance of 6 to 9 hurricanes and 2 to 5 major hurricanes. The good news is that not all storms are expected to make landfall.
